You Are Not Missing Style, You're Missing a System

You think you don't have style. You're wrong. You have style, you just haven't been taught the system that makes it visible. Linda walks you through the closet tour that changes everything.

You Are Not Missing Style. You're Missing a System.

Every woman I have ever worked with says the same thing at the start.

"I don't have style. I'm just not a fashion person."

Every single one of them is wrong.

Style is just a skill. And like every skill you have ever mastered, from running a boardroom to raising children to building a business, when you learn it, everything changes.

You get stressed out, burnt out, overwhelmed. You feel frumpy and frustrated. You wait for the weight. You keep shopping. And you still have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. There is a very simple reason for that. You simply don't have the recipe.

That is what this post is about. Not trends. Not a shopping list. A system.

Why Do I Have a Closet Full of Clothes and Nothing to Wear?

The only reason you hate shopping and have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear is because you don't have the recipe. Shopping without the recipe of what to buy, from where, at what price, how to wear it, how to mix and match it, is like cooking without knowing the ingredients, the heat, or the time.

It wastes money. It wastes time. And it quietly erodes your confidence every single morning.

Women are high in confidence when it comes to their competency area. If you are in business, corporate America, a nurse practitioner, in real estate, you are confident there. But anything outside of that, and that is not how it should be.

You are a 9/10 on the confidence scale in your workplace. But you walk into your closet and you drop to a 4 or a 5. That gap is not a personality flaw. It is a missing skill set.

What Is a Capsule Wardrobe and Do I Actually Need One?

A capsule wardrobe is a blueprint. Just like building a house, you know where the door is going to go, the windows, the staircases, the kitchen, the bedrooms. You need a blueprint for your closet.

The LindaPaige capsule wardrobe is a list of 30 essential, versatile items that mix and match easily to create multiple different outfits.

Yes. You need one.

Not because it is fashionable to have one. Because without a foundation, everything you buy is a gamble. Once you get started, it is going to build your style skill and give you confidence.

The results of a capsule wardrobe are versatility, simplicity, time efficiency, affordability, predictability, and the confidence they build.

You only have to switch up 20 percent of the pieces to go from home to lunch to date night. That is the power of a system. Not more clothes. Smarter clothes.

How Do I Start Building a Wardrobe System That Actually Works?

My recipe is simple. It is 3 steps. And it is relevant to every woman's closet, confidence, and self-esteem. Number one, we simplify. Number two, we systemize. Number three, we scale. It's that simple.

**Simplify** is where we begin. The closet cull. One day. Everything out. I teach you what to keep, what to release, and how to know the difference. I literally teach you what to wear to the closet cull, what you need beforehand, how to put everything out onto your bed, and how to decide what looks good on you and what does not.

**Systemize** is where the blueprint goes in. We take a capsule wardrobe approach to building a beautiful wardrobe on a budget, customized to your personality and your lifestyle.

**Scale** is where your skill grows. When you dedicate your 20 percent in the morning, it gives you 80 percent results throughout the day. And the more you do this, it is repeatable, it is duplicatable, and your skill set grows.

This is the Simplify, Systemize, Scale methodology. Three steps. One system. It works for every woman regardless of budget, body shape, or where she is starting from.

How Do I Dress for My Body Shape After 50?

You dress for your shape, not your size. These are not the same thing.

I work with five body shapes in my program. The Warrior (broad shoulders, athletic frame). The Bootyfull (curvy hips and rear). The Dynamite (petite frame). The All Heart (rounder through the middle). The K8 (hourglass).

Every single one is beautiful. Every single one has a strategy.

If you are curvaceous with that hourglass shape, please don't hide it. Show your shape. Draw it in at the waist. The classic pencil skirt sometimes looks gorgeous on you if you just learn how to wear it.

Don't believe anyone who says you can't wear horizontal stripes. It's just about finding how to do it. Don't believe it when they say you can't wear bold colors if you are very curvaceous with large hips. It is not the case. You just have to learn how to do it.

You do not have to choose between comfort and style. That is a myth you need to blow right out of the water.

The problem has never been your body. The problem has been the absence of a strategy built around it. Learn your shape. Then dress to express it, not to apologize for it.

Why Does What I Wear Actually Matter to My Confidence and Career?

Because the science says so. And I have nearly 40 years of business evidence that confirms it.

There is a way to increase your confidence, your influence, and your income through the power of personal style. The science is out there. The evidence abounds. Enclothed cognition shows us that what you wear impacts everything. Your mood. Your marriage. Especially your money. Everything.

Adam and Galinsky proved this in 2012. When you wear clothing associated with a role, your performance in that role changes. This is not vanity. This is neuroscience.

What I wore got me in the door. From there I built self-esteem and self-confidence.

Women like Kate quadrupled her income after a painful divorce. She did not do it by staying invisible. She did it by deciding her outside would reflect her inside.

You need to dress today for the life you want tomorrow, for the man you want to attract, for the business, the career, the opportunities you want to attract tomorrow.

Your closet has a job to do. It needs to be a step ahead of you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Questions women ask about this

Why do I have a closet full of clothes but nothing to wear?

The only reason you have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear is because you don't have the recipe. Shopping without knowing what to buy, from where, at what price, how to wear it, and how to mix and match it, is like cooking without knowing the ingredients, the heat, or the timing. The fix is not more clothes. It is a system.

What is a capsule wardrobe and how many pieces do I actually need?

A capsule wardrobe is a 10-step recipe strategically focused on 30 essential, versatile items that mix and match easily to create multiple different outfits. You only need to switch up 20 percent of the pieces to go from home to lunch to date night. Thirty pieces. Endless combinations. That is the system.

How do I dress for my body shape after 50 when my body has changed?

To learn your body shape, get in front of your mirror in your underwear, hold up the five body shape references, and look at where your shoulders and hips align. Do not believe anyone who says you cannot wear horizontal stripes or bold colors if you are curvaceous. You just have to learn how to do it. Shape, not size. That is the starting point.

How do I stop wasting money on clothes that don't work for me?

The average woman aged 45 to 60 spends $250 to $300 per month on clothing, which is $3,000 per year, $15,000 over five years, and approximately $127,000 in a lifetime with zero style skills. We are out of time with wasting money on the wrong clothes, overspending to fill a hole in our hearts that no amount of shopping can ever fill. Stop buying stuff. Buy the skills instead.

Can personal style really affect my confidence and income?

Style is a skill, and investing in yourself to develop personal style directly grows your confidence and influence. Dressing well is a powerful people skill. You are either attracting or repelling people and opportunities every single day. What you wear is not vanity. It is strategy.
